The Religious Life of St Bernardine’s is woven through our learning, relationships, prayer, service and celebrations. Grounded in the Catholic tradition and inspired by our Franciscan charism, we provide meaningful opportunities for students to encounter Jesus and put their faith into action.
Class and Parish Masses
Throughout the year, classes have opportunities to lead and participate in Mass with our parish community. Following Mass, students extend hospitality by serving morning tea and spending time with parishioners and visitors. These experiences help students understand that faith is lived through prayer, service and relationships with others.
Whole-School Celebrations
Our school community gathers for Liturgies of the Word and celebrations of the Eucharist to mark significant occasions in the Catholic faith and the life of our school.
We aim to make these celebrations meaningful and welcoming. Students are given opportunities to read, pray, sing, serve, reflect and participate actively in these sacred moments.
Parents, families, parishioners and members of the wider community are warmly invited to join us when we gather for prayer, liturgy and Mass.
Prayer and Reflection
Prayer and reflection are an important part of daily life at St Bernardine’s. Students experience prayer in their classrooms, during morning messages, at assemblies and through special moments of stillness, gratitude and reflection.
These experiences help students recognise the presence of God in themselves, in one another and in the world around them.
Family Team Afternoons
Once a year, students gather in their Family Teams to learn about their House identity and the inspiring people connected with it.
Family Team afternoons build House spirit, strengthen relationships and create a special opportunity for siblings and students from Prep to Year 6 to come together. Students pray, learn, celebrate and serve alongside one another, strengthening their sense of belonging within our school community.
Through learning, prayer, celebration and service, we continue to grow as a faith-filled community committed to living our school motto: To Serve, To Challenge.
