NAPLAN is a national assessment testing literacy—reading, writing, and language conventions (spelling, grammar, punctuation)—and numeracy skills. It provides a snapshot of student performance in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 based on the Australian Curriculum and compares it to a national standard.
To address student anxiety about NAPLAN, St Bernardine's emphasizes that results are just one measure of ability. By developing Assessment Capable Learners, we help reduce anxiety and prepare students for success. We build familiarity with online testing through practice tests, question styles, and timed assessments.
Assessment Capable Learners leverage motivation, goal setting, self-regulation, and feedback to enhance learning and numeracy as per the Australian Curriculum.
